Mars Temple

This great temple, situated on one of the major hills of Halicarnasus, housed an unusual statues of the god, made of wood and other materials. The head, arms and legs of the god's monumental figure was made of wood and the rest was made of marble. Mars or Ares, the god of war was an important figure for Halicarnassus. Unfortunately, only the terrace of the temple is preserved up to our time.
